Aspen Water water purification systems can be set up using one or two operators, producing healthful water in ten minutes or less from virtually all water sources, using any form of single-phase 90 to 260 volts AC, 50/60 Hertz. These systems can be powered by the DC power outlet/connectors on both military and commercial vehicles. Many of the Aspen Water purifiers can also be powered by solar energy when and where shore power is not available, expanding their application to the most remote regions of the world.

The fresh water purifiers, Aspen Models 5500M, 3300M and 1800BC, are designed primarily for use by rapid deployable units and in base camps, such as those used by U.S. Special Forces. Aspen systems are currently in use by the U.S. Military and coalition troops. Additionally, these systems support our troops on highly classified missions, positioning many of the U.S. Special Forces into areas of the world requiring fast response and support. A new offering is the Aspen 60,000HO Clarifying Chlorinator, which can produce up to 69,000 gallons/261,193 liters per day (2,906 gallons/11,000 liters of water per hour) and can fit in a Humvee.

Water for Aspen purifiers can be drawn from ditches, rivers, lakes or standing water that may contain chemical and/or biological contamination. The Aspen 1800BC supplies up to 1,800 gallons /6814 litres per day (75 gallons/284 litres per hour), and the Aspen 3300M supplies up to 3,300 gallons/12,492 litres per day (150 gallons/568 litres per hour); the Aspen 5500M supplies up to 5,000 gallons/18,927 litres per day (210 gallons/795 litres per hour).

All Aspen systems use two-stage filtration. The first stage removes sand, dirt and very fine particles. The second stage effectively removes harmful microorganisms and other small matters. The replaceable, multi-media water treatment canister effectively treats surface water contaminants, such as lead, barium, selenium and arsenic. It also removes high levels of man-made pollutants, such as solvents, insecticides and petrochemicals. An integrated and ruggedized Ultraviolet (UV) lamp exposure unit provides as much as three times the safety factor required by US regulatory agencies and exceeds the World Health Organization’s standards for total disinfection. UV is much faster-acting than chlorine and is known to destroy 99.99% of all bacteria and viruses found in water, such as E. coli, cholera, typhoid, anthrax and polio.

The Aspen 2000DM purifies both fresh water and saltwater, and is the most compact, energy-efficient, mobile Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU) available today, as well as the smallest full ROWPU used by U.S. soldiers in the field. All internal mechanical systems are mounted on a strong, lightweight aluminum frame, enclosed in a ruggedized military-style case. The Aspen 2000DM, and our newest offering, the smaller, lighter, Aspen 1000DM, can be deployed using water sources ranging from any fresh surface or well water to heavy sea (salt) water. This versatility comes from a unique pumping system used by Aspen Water, Inc. The energy required to operate the Aspen 2000DM is less than 1200 watts and the unit is fully operational on 90/260VAC 50-60 Hz; or from a 24 to 28 VDC power source. Another new offering, the Aspen 1500RO, is a fresh to brackish water system, can purify water ranging from any fresh water source to light saline (brackish water) up to 7500 ppm.
