Tactical Negotiation 

This course is designed for patrol first responders to critical incidents.  Topics to be covered include negotiating concepts and methodology, communication techniques, surrender and transition techniques.  Course provides student with essential crisis resolution skills.

TACTICAL NEGOTIATIONS – LEVEL 1 (1 day)

Prerequisite:  TACTICAL NEGOTIATIONS – LEVEL 1 course

This course is designed for members of tactical teams or individuals assigned to critical incident response teams (CIRT).  Topics to be covered include negotiating concepts and methodology, communication techniques, surrender and transition techniques, CIRT team structure, team management, hostage taker profiling, tactical intervention options, emotionally disturbed person profiling.   Course provides student with advanced crisis resolution skills.

TACTICAL NEGOTIATIONS – LEVEL 2 (3 days)

Prerequisite:  TACTICAL NEGOTIATIONS – LEVEL 2 course

This course is for the experienced negotiator.  Topics include psychological/psychiatric intervention and its effect on the negotiating process, advanced communication and negotiating strategies, in depth study of inquest and public inquiries, critical incident debriefing skills and the after action report process.  Students will enjoy workshop activities, role playing, guest lectures by mental health professional (subject matter expert), and practical exercises.  Students will come away prepared to negotiate during the most volatile critical incidents.
